After-Hospital & Post-Surgery Care That Fits Your Family
Recovery at home often goes better with support. People may be weak, sore, or unsteady after surgery or a hospital stay, and a fall or missed medication in the first weeks can mean going back to the hospital. A caregiver helps with the daily tasks that are hard right now, so your loved one can focus on getting better.
Post-hospital care is non-medical and works alongside any visiting nurse or physical therapist your loved one's doctor has ordered. Care can last a few days or a few weeks, and it can taper off as strength returns. If you can, call us before the discharge date so a caregiver is ready on the first day home.
We serve families in Lowell, Chelmsford, Tewksbury, Dracut, Tyngsborough, Dunstable, Groton, Pepperell, Billerica, Westford, Methuen, Andover, and Lawrence.

Common Questions
Post-Hospital Care FAQs
How soon can care start after a hospital discharge?
Ideally, call us a few days before discharge so we can plan and match a caregiver for the first day home. If discharge happens suddenly, call anyway and we'll tell you honestly what we can arrange.
Do you help after hip or knee replacement surgery?
Yes. After joint replacement, help with bathing, dressing, getting in and out of bed, walking safely, and meals can make recovery at home much easier. Caregivers follow the instructions from the surgeon and therapist.
Is post-hospital care the same as home health care?
No. Home health care is skilled medical care, such as nursing or physical therapy, ordered by a doctor and often covered by Medicare for a limited time. Our caregivers provide non-medical help with daily living, which many families add alongside home health visits.
Can care be short-term?
Yes. Many families use post-hospital care for a few weeks and then reduce or stop it as their loved one recovers.
